I can understand preference of console vs pc...servers vs P2P...but these dumb fucks at infinity fail are still proving they don't give a shit about the community that made this game what it is. No dedicated servers for PC is a straight kick in the balls once again to PC gamers.

For small co-op games ( KF, LFD, ect) local servers are fine but for large MP games like COD and Battlefield you need dedicated servers if you want to play without lag and fucking childish hackers. Not being able to have a paid server also means this game is shit for clan matches and playing with friends in general. People are also missing the whole point of IWnet over Dedi's is so they can charge you for DLC...another console scam that should have stayed on the consoles. _________________ Intel i7 3930K | Corsair H100 | Killer Nic Xeno Pro

Not to mention what its doing to the lan scenes! Lan parties in my area have mostly disappeared entirely due to the absence of dedicated servers and lan support. The only way anyone can hold a lan party now is if they are on university bandwidth or the like, as most of the smaller venues Ive enjoyed over the years weren't able to support 100+ gamers all trying to connect to any given games central server at once. I understand why games have gone down this path, piracy is a huge issue for devs, and this is just one way to combat it, but at the same time, its killing pc gaming. Im really hoping BF3 will surprise us all with a LAN option and dedicated server software, but at this point, I don't see that happening. It will probably be set up similar to Bad Company 2. In fact, the ONLY game Ive seen in the past couple of years that actually had a LAN option is Homefront, and that game sucked balls. So heres to hoping, but at this point its like pissing in the wind IMO. _________________ CPU:Intel Core i7 920 @ 3.92ghz 1.375v w/ H2O Mobo:eVGA x58 3x SLi Memory:12gb Corsair Dom. ddr3 1600mhz Graphics:2x eVGA GTX 480 SLi @ 900/1800/2000 w/ H2O Koolance VID-NX480 Blocks PSU:Enermax Galaxy 1000w Storage:Intel 510 120gb sata 3 SSD, Seagate 1.5tb, Seagate 500gb x2, WD 1tb x2 Sound:Creative Recon3d Pro Fatal1ty w/ Z-5500 Digi's, Sennheiser PC360 Displays:Samsung S27B550 / Samsung 2243BWX Case:CM Cosmos S OS:Win. 7 Ult. x64

DeVore, who was at the event, posted on the Board.ie forums some new information on Battlefield 3. DeVore states that there is regenerating health and no LAN support in Battlefield 3. Dedicated servers will be "like before" meaning you will have to rent from a ranked server provider.

They do this so they can charge for DLC. At least we can rent a dedicated server for clean games. I have no problem with that. If you want to LAN just lock it. It's fucked but it's way WAY better than this IWfailnet BS. _________________ Intel i7 3930K | Corsair H100 | Killer Nic Xeno Pro

I agree it is better that you can actually rent your own ded server, however, this doesnt help the LAN scene at all. Its hard to try and host a massive lan party on a dsl/cable connection, which is where the LAN settings and dedicated server software would really solve this problem. DLC is the worst thing to happen to gaming in a long time if you ask me. Look at oldschool games, and how long it took you to beat them back in the day compared to the 60 dollar games you buy now...pretty much any recent fps can be beaten in 6 hours or less now, and then they charge you 20 bucks for their DLC which can hardly be called expansions, for another 2 hours of gaming...its fucking pathetic. Might as well just refer to Battlefield 3 as Bad Company 3...because they way its being setup...its not fucking battlefield anymore. _________________ CPU:Intel Core i7 920 @ 3.92ghz 1.375v w/ H2O Mobo:eVGA x58 3x SLi Memory:12gb Corsair Dom. ddr3 1600mhz Graphics:2x eVGA GTX 480 SLi @ 900/1800/2000 w/ H2O Koolance VID-NX480 Blocks PSU:Enermax Galaxy 1000w Storage:Intel 510 120gb sata 3 SSD, Seagate 1.5tb, Seagate 500gb x2, WD 1tb x2 Sound:Creative Recon3d Pro Fatal1ty w/ Z-5500 Digi's, Sennheiser PC360 Displays:Samsung S27B550 / Samsung 2243BWX Case:CM Cosmos S OS:Win. 7 Ult. x64

How dare you step on my dreams with your fancy logic. Seriously though they seem to have improved on a lot of things over BC2 that I am looking forward to. _________________ Intel i7 3930K | Corsair H100 | Killer Nic Xeno Pro

after the hitbox port form Moh , Bc.2 is now decent imo, but most Mapdesigns and sizes still suck.
stop beeing so nostalgic. battlefield 2 never had a well working hitbox ! "Duuuuust"
i will not preorder it anyway just because of the dlc.
Bigger maps and no tube levels in bf3 and i am happy with it.
but i doubt that. Not with that graphic ,64 players and destruction.
Frostbyte 2.0 is still a console based engine. srry i have to say "multiplattform" based lol
we will see.... _________________ ______________________________
