I am gathering money from selling my old AMD (Motherboard , CPU and 1GB DDR2 1066MHZ ram), GTX280 and Xbox360 with games and wheel. I am looking at two particular monitors. I am a big fan of Samsung so my first choice is a samsung which is almost Identical to the 24" I had but died 6 months ago

http://www.dabs.ie/products/samsung-syncmaster-2443bw-24--widescreen-1920-x-1200-5ms-dvi-d-vga-height-adjustable-lcd-monitor-6CY8.html?refs=52980000-50429

The second I am not too sure of because I have never used the recent Iiyama monitors. The only Iiyama monitor I ever used was a 17" widescreen which was badly built and the picture was terrible. I am looking at this because of its size which is 26" and its a reasonable price.

http://www.dabs.ie/products/iiyama-pro-lite-e2607ws-1-26--widescreen-1920-x-1200-2ms-hdmi-dvi-d-vga-lcd-monitor-with-speakers-5BBX.html?refs=49820000

I am wondering if any of you have used any of these Iiyama monitors and if so what is the picture quality like. The Iiyama is the most I can spend on a monitor so its at the top of my budget. I would like the Iiyama for its size but if its picture quality is crap I will just go with the samsung.

Never heard of Iiyama, so cant really help you there. Samsung is probably your best choice, are there any led 120hz 3d capable monitors that are within your budget? Id be def looking into one of those, especially running 470 SLi. BTW, you linked to the Samsung twice, cant see the iiyama.

Sorry heres the link for the Iiyama.

http://www.dabs.ie/products/iiyama-pro-lite-e2607ws-1-26--widescreen-1920-x-1200-2ms-hdmi-dvi-d-vga-lcd-monitor-with-speakers-5BBX.html?refs=49820000

Apparently from the reviews I have seen its supposed to be a good monitor matching the Samsung. I was just wondering if anybody else used the Iiyama monitors. All the 120HZ monitors are out of my budget range too.

The samsung is 24" and the Iiyama is 26". I would rather go for the bigger monitor if its worth it. Also I am going with 1920 x 1200 so that I am using the SLI properly. I dont think anything more will be necesary.

1920 x 1200 wont make much difference to 19020 x 1080. 1920 x 1080 should be good enough for SLI. my SLI setup is being wasted on this 19" 1680 x 1050 monitor.

This would be perfect for sli http://www.dabs.ie/products/dell-30--wide-1000-1-dvi-lcd-monitor-6N6F.html?refs=457640000 But holy crap its expensive.

I can only find Samsung Monitors that are 1920 x 1080 now anyway and from reviews I have read on Iiyama monitors their IQ is better.

You'll get used to it Very Happy

I've has Iiyama and Samsung monitors during the last couple of years and I always had to calibrate their colors to get a nice picture.
All my latest screens were HP though, starting with a 22" like 4 years, then a 24" I had for two years and now it's a 27". I like their glare type panel and IQ in general.

If I had to get a new monitor I'd definitely try to get 120Hz at least and LED if possible. So far I always got used to a bigger screen relatively fast even though I have to admit that 27" is definitely the biggest size you should consider TN for, that's definitely its upper limit (if not slightly above it already).

Im not going for a 120Hz monitor because theyre very expensive. I am on a tight budget and this monitor I am using now has a slightly yellow tinge to it with washed out colours. Its definately not as good as it was four years ago when I bought it new. I need a new monitor.

I am relying on the guy I buy my parts from all the time to order me a new monitor ASAP. I have enough money right now for a 24" , but thursday I will have enough for a 26". Ive emailed him today to ask him to order the 24" Iiyama monitor but I havent heard back from him.

That makes sense, yes. There aren't too many 120Hz models out anyhow.

One thing that saved me from a lot of headache was this:
