Picked up a copy of ARMA 2 today - is anyone else playing it yet? Performance was disappointing (to say the least) on my 4870. It's averaging around 30fps, which is crazy!
Would be good to know whether it's a driver issue, or just a badly optimised engine (it's hardly the best looking game out there). _________________ CPU: i7 860 @ 3.8ghz (Corsair H100/Noiseblocker M12-P)

I had a copy pre-ordered but it hasn't arrived yet. I'm looking forward to it even though the game seems to have several severe bugs.
Do you like it so far? Apart from the performance issues _________________ Intel i7 2600k | MSI Z77 GD55 | 8GB Corsair DDR3-1866 | Gigabyte GTX 670 | Creative X-Fi Titanium HD
To be honest I expected more from it. The graphics really aren't great (buggy textures, especially when you go prone), and the sound isn't up to much either. I think it needs a bit of tweaking to get the most out of it.

I don't think the game is out here in the states yet. My squad is looking forward to trying it out. _________________ Intel i7 3930K | Corsair H100 | Killer Nic Xeno Pro

I think the release date is the 28th in the States?
@ad: Interesting you didn't like it. It did look good in these promo videos they had, but I guess it's different at full scale.
Maybe I'm lucky and the demo comes out before the game.
How do you like the gameplay, is it as "stiff" as AA3? _________________ Intel i7 2600k | MSI Z77 GD55 | 8GB Corsair DDR3-1866 | Gigabyte GTX 670 | Creative X-Fi Titanium HD

Well that was the same as the first game, i9t ran like shit on my machine when it first came out. I had a top of the line cpu and vid card, and my fps was horendous!
I fully expect what you said above from this game! _________________ -Gaming-

I tried the demo out now and I must say the performance is really a problem. Reminds me of Crysis somehow.
To me it looks really neat with all gimmicks enabled, sadly I can't play it like that. Without AA, it works quite ok, but has a quite blurry optic.
The only good thing about it is that you'd have to disable environmental details, like grass, anyhow to stand a chance against the AI And all those buttons... driving "sims" always had an arcade mode, where is it here? _________________ Intel i7 2600k | MSI Z77 GD55 | 8GB Corsair DDR3-1866 | Gigabyte GTX 670 | Creative X-Fi Titanium HD
