Windows 7 Forum Topic for all us Windows 7 followers.. With the 7100 Final build already leaked and to be released officially in May, I see no reason not to have one - unless i've completely overlooked it. If I have, I apologize for creating this post.

Looking forward to seeing it implemented soon.

Err, no. That is for MSDN and Technet subscribers, confirmed for release to them on that date, I think peeps under the Microsoft Partner program already got it now.

For the peeps that isn't signed into any of the above, they get it on 5th of May.

I think it's a good idea. Not only to see what people think of it, but also to help each other out. All that information can help others later on when they install the final version of 7. My 2 cts.

Windows 7 7100 64-bit is very stable and I like it. Except that some games with GameGuard, etc. doesn't work for some reason - although GG has released a patch, the game hasn't updated to it. I've seen a Punkbuster workaround though at a forum.

If I read correctly (I hope so Cool), it would be cool for TF to put in a forum for Windows 7. Although Vista drivers work in Windows 7 as of now (unless they rename their kernel from 6.1 - which they shouldn't as told), there will be Windows 7 optimized drivers in the future even already out and testing as I speak. They enable WDDM 1.1 which is very cool to have (if you have a compatible card).

I'd make some kind of sarcastic remark about needing a forum for every Vista skin in that case, but that would be mean (too late) Twisted Evil

I always loved Vista, but I am astonished with Win 7's performance and stability improvements.

It may be beta, but I say it is as stable as Vista, enough that I use it as my primary OS.

The only real downfall I have had is PunkBuster... but that is nothing new as Battlefield 2 never seemed to like my Vista as it was.... Other than that, I have not had much incompatibilities, and I do trust better results with the addition of XP Mode in the final release

Nah, DX11 will definitely come to Vista. Forcing people to upgrade was apparently only part of the reason that DX10 doesn't work on XP. The other part is architectural, but they definitely won't have those limitations for DX11 on Vista...

BTW, I wouldn't get too excited about XP mode. It's virtualised, so you won't be gaming on it Rolling Eyes
