I personally like the Hotmail interface, since it's userfriendly and easy to use except the features and limited IMAP/POP ability isn't that good on the free plan.

I just re-registered my old Gmail now, and I transferred my hotmail emails and contacts over. Now I have to contact them and tell them that I am using Gmail (if I decide to choose it). The Gmail IMAP seems to be slow and their Labels will take a while to get used to, as custom folders.

Damn this is a though choice, as I'm screwed. I have my Xbox Live integrated with my Live/Hotmail account, other stuff (forums), Windows Live Profile space, etc. I don't know how I can transfer that crap over.

I have SquirrelMail for my website, but I just hook it up via POP or IMAP so it's easier when I need it offline.

Gmail seems to be too hard to use on IMAP now, POP would work but if you delete something on your client its like groundhog day on the web interface.

For now I think I'll just keep Microsoft's services.
