I have a Sapphire HD 3850 AGP, and they installed without any problems.

I tested video, OpenGL and DirectX

Beginning chase scene in Casino Royale was flawless using Media Player Classic Homecinema v1.1.604.0
Get it here, it replaces the old MPC, much better results with the new one!
http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/

DirectX
HL2:Lost Coast, Max settings, 0-AA, 8x-AF, 1680x1050 I got 100.29 fps

OpenGL
Lightsmark 2008 v 2.0 at 1680x1050 fullscreen, I got 231.1 fps

I only had one issue, and it was right after I installed the drivers. On reboot after the install it set the desktop to 640x480, 8-bit color, 75Hz refresh. With my 22" widescreen it was a pain in the ass to get the rez set right, I could not reach the "OK" or "Apply" button on the control panel, it was below the horizon on the desktop screen. I had to Tab and guess until I got it right. The default after a fresh install should be 60Hz refresh and maybe 800x600.

Other then that, I'm keeping these, they worked flawlessly in movies, OpenGL and DirectX. Job well done guys!

I wish I could help you MakaKam, I really do. But I have no idea why it is not installing for you. I find this baffling. You and I have the very same card, it installs and works great for me and does not even install for you.

Previously I had the ATI 8.10 Hotfix drivers installed.

http://support.ati.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=31625

I went to the control panel, used the ATI Software Uninstall Utility and restarted into Safe Mode. In Safe Mode, I used BOTH Driver Cleaner Pro (the last free one) and Driver Sweeper to clean out everything from the previous driver install. Rebooted, double clicked and installed the driver. That is all I did.

Rosco_CoF: thx for Your help. Just like You, I used drive sweeper to remove the old drivers but it didn't help I don't have a clue what the problem may be. I am using XG drivers 8.9 for AGP and everything runs great on it, that's why I tried to install 8.12 ver.
Semp is there any chance You can help me out somehow? Thx in advance and keep up the great job Smile

I have a Sapphire 3850 AGP. Installed 8.12 and ran X-Plane 9 which uses only OpenGL. Getting a ton load of artifacts and program crashed 3 times. Tried both these and Sapphire's drivers. Went back to 8.10 and everything is fine.

XG Catalyst 8.12 installed on clean system (WXP SP3)

1. ATI Tray Tools (1.6.9.1374 BETA) - missing OpenGL profile (official Catalyst 8.12 works fine here)
2. System startup - reset monitor driver to default (standard VGA), I must set monitor driver manually
3. BSOD on some older games (Chaos Legion etc.)

This driver should work great for you. You do not need to install the official first.

hi all. i'm currently playing Prince of Persia which was recently released. I'm using XG Catalyst 8.12 and the graphics card i'm using is Gainward 4850 Golden Sample version.

I believe my card is more superior than 8800GT (correct me if i'm wrong). The card i'm using is equivalent to 9800GT+.

I'm playing Prince of Persia at 1680x1050 resolutions, Graphics Quality at High settings and High resolution textures.

I have to disable AA to play the game. With even 2xAA the game is laggy. I found out that someone was using 8800GT only and they can MAX out the graphics settings with 8xAA without LAG.

Can anyone enlighten me what may be the problem?

Thanks
