Hi,

I would like to know if there is any option to have any nvidia graphics card from 200 series and above working in 15.7khz at 640x480/800x600 max resolution.

I use to restore arcade machines as a hobby and mostly need to change the arcade CRT for TV CRT using a custom made vga/dvi to scart cable.

I've tweaked a 9800GTX with the first driver version who came with the card (I think it was 174.74 WHQL) and Soft15 Khz, WinModelines and PowerStrip. It kinda works but it's quite unstable and I would like to use modern graphic cards such as my 770gtx whitout needing to add those software tweaks.

The point is that with new drivers, it's impossible to make the card work at 15.7khz so I can't use it for restorations and I need to buy the ArcadeVGA which is so outdated and expensive.

As an example, here is my last restoration from a Virtua Striker arcade to this one:

Thank you guys!

Thanks dude! I also started to become a Castlevania fan with Simon's Quest... What a horrible night to have a curse!

Anyway, I hope someone will be able to help with this. It's a huge problem for all the people who try to restore Arcade Machines and it would be so nice if it would be solved.

Have you tried any AMD cards? I was running MAME with an AMD 4890 in my tabletop arcade without any issues. Not sure if this helps you or not.

Castlevania 1...still a classic worth a run through every now and then.

Well, the point is that I would like to use Nvidia rather than AMD... but anyway, what monitor does your tabletop have? Most of the arcades that I restore have a tv, Jamma monitor or similar (not vga) so I need to force the graphics card to 15.7Khz with 640x480 or below resolution.

With base Nvidia nor AMD drivers can reach 15.7khz, so you need custom drivers... and that's why I'm here Very Happy
