Hi guys,
Until recently I had never had any problems with switching between my APPLE OS and my WIN 7 OS using Bootcamp (built into the iMac)
I'll explain what I have first:
iMac 24inch Early 2008 (so not the one from 2006 which had a Logic Board problem).
Apart from the Gaming PC I'm using to type this up, I need my iMac (it has everything from the last 4 years of my design life - well University and Design portfolio - Graphic Designer).
THE PROBLEM:
Since 3 weeks ago, I installed the latest BETA Driver from Nvidia and nothing seemed to be wrong, until 4 days ago, when I switched on my iMac and located my APPLE side of things, the Screen flickered / Froze, pixelated and flashed a lot... then overheated.
The scenario - I allowed it to cool down (24hrs later to be safe) logged into Windows 7 and put my mac fan up to 70% for all 3 fans.
The problem occured once I started doing things, and the PC kept pausing for 10 seconds or so, then the popup (DRIVER DISPLAY ERROR OCCURED or something on those lines) - Basically it kept crashing.
MY HELP NEEDED:
Is there a quick way to revert the driver back? like using safemode?
As I have tried a few times to revert back using the Driver Cleaner and uninstalling that way, however, I can't get through most of that process before the computer freezes.
Really need your help on this one guys
A quick way to revert back to a previous driver, as the normal uninstalling solution isn't working (as Win 7 crashes before I can complete it).
Thanks guys, all help is appreciative, It wasn't cheap so I am pretty sure it's the Display Driver causing this all (if not then I can't afford a new logic board).

Can you boot into the Mac OS with out any problems/pauses, etc.? _________________ i7/930 - Noctua NH-C12P

No, I basically boot into Mac OS and then the white screen with the apple and loading circle starts to pixelate (like static on the analog tvs).
Once I actually login, I have literally 10minutes at the most before it goes mental and flickers/weird sounds then black screen (though it's still running)
I find it easier to update the driver from Win7 side, but never updated the nvidia 8800M GS from MAC OS.

Then it's not the Windows driver that is currently causing your problem. While the driver may have precipitated your problem, since you're not loading that when booting into Mac OS it sounds more like the video or CPU in your iMac that has gone south.
Just for grins, try booting up on your OS CD that came with your 'puter, if it exhibits the same problem, then you have a hardware failure. If you're still under warranty, it would be time to contact Apple support by phone or the Apple store.
Sorry I couldn't deliver better news. _________________ i7/930 - Noctua NH-C12P

I've put my disc in and held D, to perform a hardware test, first time I've had to do this, I'm performing the big one so can take an hour, it will tell me if it's software or hardware issue related... hopefully the former, as my iMac is early 2008 and the warrenty ended late 2009.
I really hope it isn't major! the costs will be too much.
