i switched back to my 480 gtx and sold my 6950 @ default clocks and full shader of a 6970...
i have to admit that the ati was a tiny tiny tiny bity faster then the 480. 3-5 fps maybe in bf.3.
But i can use 1 frame render ahead again.... and that feels like gold lol! _________________ ______________________________

Worm Nvidia is the best! and u know it too worm welcum back to the green side hehee. and Also u can just force vsync on nvidia driver menu and works on all games like a charm unlike ati it doesnt work on all games even u force it on drivers you gotta use a third party program for it like Direct 3d Overider. _________________ i7 3930k @ 4.5

all you need is radeon pro for ati... just pure ownage for making settings, profiles, etc etc.... that render frame ahead setting is just not working with the driver.

lol who in the hell uses vsync anyways?? i sure dont and i use to be a greener but not any more since i got my 5870 and its still on stock clocks yet.

but anyways .......and the only reason to use that render ahead was to help the gfx card limp its way threw a game lol mine doesnt need to limp threw any game yet.
i do i dont want screen tearing i had 5870 in tri-fire and im not happy wit ati drivers thats just me though. nvidia is superior better image quality, better driver support and u get phsyx for free. what are u frames in metro 2033 everything maxed out wit DOF and tesselation on and 4x aa and 16x AF? _________________ i7 3930k @ 4.5

I just sold my 6950 and not the 480gtx cause the 480 had a 60 bucks 3rd party cooler mounted.. i just dont wanna remove it or giving it away too cheap. Thats the only reason. The 5870 is still an amazing card, even faster then a 6950 @ stock in most cases.
btw:
some games, specially console ports are running better with vsync enabled...
I had that problem with bioshock 1. it felt like 15 fps but it was on 120 or some like that, but it droped to 50 often.
This make it felt like 20 fps.... after vsync enabled it run wit 60 fps all the time and felt smooth as butter....
same for gta 4 , dead island and other ports here...
Its not a matter how high your fps are , its just a matter how stable.
crysis 1 felt smooth with 20-25 fps.

it only sucks on ati lol as far for sli or tri -sli im not having any problems wit it but that's just me based upon my experience 5870 tri-fire, 295 quad sli coop edition, GTX 480 tri's and 580 tris all of em rum smoothly except for 5870 tri's is not becuz of the hardware is becuz of ati's crappy drivers. _________________ i7 3930k @ 4.5
