Performance

Increases performance for GeForce 400 and 500-series GPUs in several PC games vs. v280.26 WHQL drivers. The following are some examples of improvements measured on Windows 7. Results will vary depending on your GPU and system configuration:

Adds support for OpenGL 4.2 for GeForce 400 series and 500 series GPUs.

Supports OpenGL 3.3 for GeForce 8-series and later GPUs.
Supports single GPU and NVIDIA SLI technology* on DirectX 9 and OpenGL.
Supports the new GPU-accelerated features in Adobe Creative Suite 5 including Photoshop CS5.
Supports GPU-acceleration for smoother online HD videos with Adobe Flash.
Supports GPU overclocking and temperature monitoring by installing NVIDIA System Tools software.
Users without US English operating systems can select their language and download the International driver here.
*Note: The following SLI features are only supported on Windows Vista and Windows 7: Quad SLI technology, 3-way SLI technology, Hybrid SLI, and SLI multi-monitor support.

Now the question is, if this driver got the updates from the updated OpenGL driver (280.47) or not. Anyhow testing both I guess.

Edith: 285.27 works better for me (got a better Performance). Also my games run a little bit smoother. So far I like it.

So what's the potential upshot for being a GPU guinea pig? First and foremost, release 285.27 pushes performance gains in a bunch of titles when installed with your GeForce GTX 580 or 560 videcoard. Most are single digit performance gains in SLI, though there are a couple of double-digit boosts, including up to 13 percent in Metro 2033 with SLI (GTX 580) and up to 11 percent in Stalker: Call of Pripyat with SLI (GTX 560).
The beta driver updates the Physx engine and HD audio driver, adds support for OpenGL 4.2 for GeForce 400 series and 500 series GPUs, and fleshes out Nvidia's 3D Vision technology, among other changes."
