Kinda need more info, such as what ram you are running, motherboard and vcore voltages, also ram timings, fsb speeds would help as well. Also what multiplier are you trying to run on? Unless your ram freq is locked, as you raise your fsb freq your ram freq is going up as well, and more than likely too far, either that or you arent giving your cpu enough vcore, could be many things, need more info. _________________ CPU:Intel Core i7 920 @ 3.92ghz 1.375v w/ H2O Mobo:eVGA x58 3x SLi Memory:12gb Corsair Dom. ddr3 1600mhz Graphics:eVGA GTX 780 PSU:Enermax Galaxy 1000w Storage:Intel 510 120gb sata 3 SSD, Seagate 1.5tb, Seagate 500gb x2, WD 1tb x2 Sound:Creative Recon3d Pro Fatal1ty w/ Z-5500 Digi's, Sennheiser PC360 Displays:Samsung S27B550 / Samsung 2243BWX Case:CM Cosmos S OS:Win. 7 Ult. x64

CPU Freq. 360 wont even let me do 361 just wont post.
RAM Freq. 900MHz right now when I start OC I bump down closer to 800MHz
Mem V. 2.20V stock is 2.10 I can bump this up or down any time.
CPU V. 1.225V wont let me move this any more up or down.
FSB Termination V set to Auto
MHC Chipset auto
ICH Chipset auto
CPU Internal Thermal Control disabled

cpu vcore could be the badass .... imo
my q9550 gets oc errors with default v-core minus vdrop @ stock 2.8
-.- maybe its low vtt voltage but i would try the v-core raise first.
if you runin 800 mhz ram @ 900 could it be the prob also. lol _________________ ______________________________

Im willing to bet vcore is the issue as well. Are you stable at the max OC you can achieve while still posting? If you say you cant get to 361 fsb, Im assuming you can post and boot into your OS at 360, is it stable at 360? If not, could very well be vcore. And if the RAM IS ddr2 800, dropping it down "closer to 800" could be the issue, Ive had Gskill ddr2 800 that wouldnt run at anything higher than 800 no matter what voltage I dumped into it. If the ram is ddr2 800, you should run it AT 800 or less, and see if you post. The fact that you cant raise your Vcore over 1.22v leads me to believe you dont have a very good overclocking mobo tho... but looking it up, I dont understand why you cant raise your vcore any further than 1.22...
Found this, if your board is an Asus P5W Deluxe DH, which happens to be the only one I can find, I found this overclocking review, and in some of the bios photos, it shows vcore settings of 1.40v. So why you cant go beyond 1.22 is beyond me. I do notice in the image it also says in grey letters,
"NOTE: To adjust vcore, please disable C1E and EIST."

Ok so I went back and reset my bios to default then started to change all my V Core first then my fsb and now this are working. Im now at 370 and speed fan says 2.22V for my core even tho I set my core V to 2.23V so you all were correct it was my V.
I was very stable at 900MHz for my ram I bumped it down to 740 and my pc would freeze now im at 940MHz and Everest is going to be running in a few min.
Ok everest failed saying hardware failure.
I went back to 360fsb and 2.252V and everest is ok

Im sure you mean 1.25 lol. 2.25 and that chip would be on fire lol. Hardware failure typically points to not enough vcore on the cpu whereas the system freezing points to memory. You need more vcore. Id bump it to 1.3v and work with that. The Q9550 has a max voltage of 1.36v so dont go over 1.36v and you will be fine, as long as temps are acceptable, I wouldnt let load temps go over 71c. Also, dont use speedfan, its fairly innaccurate. I would use Coretemp instead. What kind of ram do you have? _________________ CPU:Intel Core i7 920 @ 3.92ghz 1.375v w/ H2O Mobo:eVGA x58 3x SLi Memory:12gb Corsair Dom. ddr3 1600mhz Graphics:eVGA GTX 780 PSU:Enermax Galaxy 1000w Storage:Intel 510 120gb sata 3 SSD, Seagate 1.5tb, Seagate 500gb x2, WD 1tb x2 Sound:Creative Recon3d Pro Fatal1ty w/ Z-5500 Digi's, Sennheiser PC360 Displays:Samsung S27B550 / Samsung 2243BWX Case:CM Cosmos S OS:Win. 7 Ult. x64

a friend of mine can run 4ghz with his 9550 @1.189 or something.
i need for 3.8 ghz 1.375 volts on the cpu
just a shame lol. _________________ ______________________________

I've read many posts of users that can't get the 9550 to run at 3.06 but going straight to 3.2 or even 3.4 works with no problems. Try going straight to 3.4GHz with 1.375v. _________________ Intel i7 3930K | Corsair H100 | Killer Nic Xeno Pro
